Understanding Alerts
This month the Party Rental Planner Web Manager has undergone several revisions. Many of these revisions were bug fixes, but there are two minor updates which add more functionality for rental companies. In this blog post I explain the new Alerts panel in the dashboard. The new Alerts panel is communications tool which allows you to be alerted of the comments your customers make on invoices. Here is a screenshot of what the updated dashboard looks like:
If your dashboard does not look like this you'll need to clear your browsers cache. In the bottom right hand corner, you should see the version as "0.4.0". Notice the red box in the image above. If you need help with this please contact me at info@partyrentalplanner.com. You have the ability to to mark an alert as 'Read' or 'UnRead' using the button bar at the bottom. As well you can delete an alert at your discretion. By doubleclicking on the Alert you will see the following popup.
On the popup screen along which the 'Mark as Read' and 'Mark as UnRead' buttons you'll notice the 'View Rental', 'View Customer', and 'View URL' buttons. These buttons allow you to quickly navigate to the customer, the rental or the invoice which the comment was left. That's really it. We will be expanding the Alerts in the future to allow messages to be sent from one rental company to another. So stay tuned!
